Terms of Service

By installing or using FILTERED ("the extension," "the service"), you agree to these terms. Please read them before using the product.

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of FILTERED, a Chrome extension and associated web services. By accessing or using any part of the service, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. What FILTERED does

FILTERED is a browser extension that intercepts outgoing messages on supported platforms, scores them for AI quality across a defined rubric, and presents the score to you before you send. The service is a quality coaching tool. It does not block, suppress, or prevent any message from being sent. All sending decisions remain entirely yours.

3. Your account

You may use FILTERED without an account on the free tier, subject to monthly scoring limits. To access Pro or Team features or the score history dashboard, you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and must notify us at support@filtered-ai.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to reverse engineer or decompile the extension for competitive purposes.
• Use the service to process content that is illegal or harmful.
• Circumvent usage limits through technical means (e.g., creating multiple accounts to avoid free tier caps).
• Use the service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair our infrastructure.

5. Plans, billing, and refunds

Free. Up to 20 scored messages per calendar month, at no cost and with no credit card required. We may adjust these limits with reasonable notice.

Pro. For individuals. Billed at $4.99 per month, or $49.99 per year (annual billing saves two months). Includes unlimited scoring and your personal dashboard.

Team. For organizations. Billed monthly at $12 per seat, charged to the account owner for the number of seats selected, which you can change at any time. Includes everything in Pro plus the team dashboard and manager visibility. All paid prices are charged at the rate displayed at the time of purchase.

Cancellation and refunds. Monthly plans (Pro and Team) may be cancelled at any time; access continues to the end of the current paid period and no refund is issued for that period. Annual Pro plans may also be cancelled at any time: access continues to the end of the current monthly period (a one-month minimum), and the remaining whole months are refunded, with the months you used charged at the standard $4.99 monthly rate rather than the discounted annual rate. Payment processing fees are non-refundable. The free plan is provided so you can evaluate the service before any charge.

EU and UK consumers: by starting a paid plan you request that the service begin immediately and acknowledge that once it has begun your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal may not apply, except as set out in the refund terms above.

6. AI scoring

Scoring is performed by relaying your message text through our managed scoring service to Anthropic's Claude API. You do not need to provide your own API key. All AI processing costs are included in your plan. Quality scores are heuristic outputs generated by an AI model and may be imperfect; see the disclaimer below.

7. Intellectual property

FILTERED, its codebase, brand, and associated materials are owned by us. These Terms do not grant you any license to use our name, logo, or product design for any purpose other than using the service as intended.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

FILTERED is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that scores produced are accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose. Quality scores are heuristic outputs, not professional advice.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of FILTERED. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.

10. Platform compatibility

FILTERED operates by injecting a content script into web pages. Platform developers may update their products in ways that affect FILTERED's functionality. We make no guarantees of compatibility with specific platforms.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. On termination, your right to use the service ends immediately.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email. Continued use after updated Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
